Before I met Sue, I lived in Akron, Ohio where people sworn by Szalay’s Sweet corn. The Szalay Farm was located in the Cuyahoga National Park, near the small town of Peninsula. At the time there were 22 miles of trails along the former Ohio Canal and the towpath went right through the farm. What a great setting! I biked the path four or five days a week, so while the corn was great, just getting and being there just added to the experience and quality of life. While driving to The Hahn Farm for corn isn’t a Zen experience, they have absolutely the best sweetest sweet corn you will ever eat. It just doesn’t get any better. Add fresh chilled cantaloupe, pita bread and hummus – and you have a great summer meal.
