How many grams of sugar?

It’s a brand name we’re all familiar with – and in all likeyhood have warm childhood memories associated parents or grandparents taking us to get a donut at Dunkin Donuts. Surely it was a sign that they indeed loved us.  Dunkin Donuts is part of the culture of being a student, construction worker, or police officers  And how can you have a morning office meeting without donuts and coffee?

Now the brand and our memories are tugging at us at our favorite stores as well with a line of bottled coffees.  But because we better educated, wiser and more conscious about nutrition and our food choices, hopefully we know that a product that has 46 grams of sugar is not a smart choice.

“According to the American Heart Association (AHA), the maximum amount of added sugars you should eat in a day are (7): Men: 150 calories per day (37.5 grams or 9 teaspoons). Women: 100 calories per day (25 grams or 6 teaspoons).
